The aim of this workshop is to present and discuss the climate risk matrix developed by the Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation. Among the topics discussed were key physical climate risks as well as the severity of their impact on business sectors, using as an example, the electricity transmission and distribution sector and the commercial real estate sector. The main consequences presented in the climate risk matrices are accompanied by standardized advice that portfolio managers can use to verify whether issuers are taking adequate measures to mitigate the risks. 

The objective of this workshop is to help participants better understand where the agricultural insurance sector in Quebec is currently in its risk management related to extreme weather events and climate change. More specifically, the topics addressed by the Comfiz experts will cover how insurance companies are preparing to integrate mass processing of climate data and artificial intelligence to develop more precise risk analysis models that are likely to support an improvement in their service offer in the agricultural sector.

Finance Montreal invited you on December 9 to an FSI Morning Talk - Round Table entitled "Managing your low carbon transition: moving from words to action", organized as part of the Low Carbon SME initiative, co-initiated by Québec Net Positif and CCG, and presented by Desjardins, EDC and financed in part by the Government of Canada. This event aimed to review this year's issues and trends, from the risks of greenwashing, to the credibility of net-zero transition plans, to the emergence of international sustainability standards, to issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion. These topics will undoubtedly be important in the upcoming shareholder meeting season. 

This high-level panel discussion organized by Finance Montréal in partnership with EY, will provide an overview of the structure of the ISSB, describe how existing standards will fit into the ISSB’s work, and how the ISSB will impact corporate sustainability reporting and its implications for financial markets and investors when assessing enterprise value.
